PBJ: Kuni Goes ‘Big’ in Backing a Worthy Cause

Kuni Automotive CFO Laura Carlisle recently wrote this article that appeared in Portland Business Journal’s special section on corporate philanthropy. Kuni is a long-time supporter of Big Brothers Big Sisters Columbia Northwest (BBBS), and joined their “It’s Big Time” campaign when it kicked off last fall. The campaign is working to improve the high school graduation rate by pairing youth with adult mentors who help give them the self-confidence to earn a diploma.

In 1970, the late Wayne Kuni founded Kuni Automotive when he opened a dealership in Beaverton, Oregon. The company was founded on the principle of giving back to the community. Today, Kuni has over 1,400 employees at 15 dealerships in Oregon, Washington, California and Colorado – including Kuni Lexus of Portland and Kuni BMW in Beaverton.

It’s been our pleasure to watch the company grow and succeed over the years. Kuni wholeheartedly believes in giving back to the community – in a BIG way!
