While we usually focus on getting positive news coverage for our clients, the recent death of John Tongue inspired our founder, Brian Gard, to reflect on John’s leadership style in a commentary piece published in The Oregonian.
John was Oregon’s leading advocate for Oregon’s safety belt law. He was both dogged and soft spoken, determined and unassuming. He saved lives in more ways than one and did so with grace and humility. We will miss the man himself, and we will miss his style of leadership, a style that is both effective and largely lacking in today’s political environment.
