Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative

Formed in 2009, the Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative is the steward of Oregon’s renowned Bottle Bill and can and bottle redemption program. OBRC engaged Gard in 2020 to draft a strategic communications plan for them, and since then, we have continued to help meet a range of their communications and public relations needs. In addition to advising on social strategy and communicating during the COVID-19 crisis, Gard has helped OBRC receive significant earned media coverage through proactive pitching. We have created several videos for OBRC, including two award winners, and we managed their 50th anniversary celebration, which featured a creative happy birthday video and a very successful, statewide hidden bottle hunt that built brand awareness and good will. That campaign earned a Merit Award from the Public Relations Society of America Oregon Chapter.
