Connecting Volunteers with Opportunities

The Standard’s annual Portland Volunteer Expo connects more than 175 nonprofits with people who want to get involved in their communities. We drive awareness and attendance of the Expo with a multi-pronged strategy that highlights The Standard’s reputation of philanthropy and volunteerism. Our campaign shows they are way more than an insurance and financial service company; they are a vital part of our community.

As part of The Standard’s media partnership with KATU, the station produces a series of segments featuring different nonprofits who participate in the Volunteer Expo. This segment highlights Habitat for Humanity. Since 1981, the organization has built and repaired homes for over 3,000 people across the Portland region.

AM Northwest segment: Partnering with Meals on Wheels

This KATU segment features Meals on Wheels People. In addition to serving over 21,000 nutritious meals every week to older adults and other nutritionally at-risk populations in the Portland and Vancouver metro areas, MOWP also provide much-needed companionship and social support so older adults can live out the independent lives they deserve and enjoy the kind of life-giving connections that will nourish them as they continue to age.
