Collective Team Bonding: Gard Retreats on the River

Retreats are a valuable way for Gard to foster team bonding, encourage new ideas and showcase new goals for the company.

This year, we had the opportunity to hold our retreat at the Portland Opera (a pro-bono client) overlooking the beautiful Willamette River.

During the retreat, members of the Gard team were able to connect and discuss the power of dialogue. The session, led by Michele Leedom with Clinton Street Consulting, was aimed at equipping Gard with the necessary tools and knowledge to promote constructive dialogue and achieve positive results.

“Our retreat is a chance to take a step back and reflect. We learned and laughed together, and we have good homework to follow up on,” said Liz Fuller, President and CEO of Gard. “As a bonus, I got to show my colleagues the secret to a good group jump shot – bend your knees.”

We also had a chance to reflect on our accomplishments and learn more about our commitment to DEI, including:

  • Hosting our second Day Of Service with the Oregon Food Bank;
  • Getting approved by the state of Oregon as a Woman-Owned Business; and
  • Completing more than 1,000 hours of pro bono work in 2023!

Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this retreat a success!
