Kicking Off the Holidays with Saint Alphonsus

Idaho’s Treasure Valley sure knows how to ring in the holidays. This year was no exception with its annual kick-off event, the Saint Alphonsus Festival of Trees. It was an amazing sight to see as hundreds of volunteers transformed Boise Centre into a winter wonderland of blinged-out Christmas trees, creatively crafted wreaths (there was even one made from Star Wars action figures) and other holiday décor. Now in its 33rd year, the festival has raised more than $8 million to help improve healthcare services in Boise. And Gard Communications was happy to be part of it.

This year, along with helping to create the TV commercial and billboards for Saint Alphonsus, we decided to sponsor a tree ourselves. Themed “All About You” after our branding work with Saint Alphonsus, our tribute tree included framed pictures of all the people in our spots, snow globes capturing people enjoying life together, and mirrors to reflect people looking on. Though it didn’t earn us the blue ribbon (there were some amazing trees), our tree was one of the first to be purchased in the silent auction.
